Love as Loneliness

leaf-heartPrompted by the question “What is love as loneliness” from my meditation teacher,  Nick Kranz.

Love as loneliness
At first, an ache, a longing
Peeling back the layers
of form and conditioning
A bright light
A gentle hum
The frequency at which I am
And you are
Yet there is no we
There is just one
Being-ness.

Seeing Hearts Everywhere

seeing-hearts-everywhereLeaning in
Past the
I shoulds
You shouldn’ts
It musts
The I like this
But I don’t like that
There is just
Cool drops of moisture
On warm skin
The smell of wet grass
And concrete
The sound the rain makes
Against the blanket of fallen leaves
A man, leather-skinned and undernourished
As grateful for a smile and cup of coffee
As I am for the tear that trickles down my cheek
And the ache
Of seeing hearts everywhere
